Default 25NL - Top 2 pair on monotone flop line against decent player

decent may be an understatement..I haven't been paying excellent attention to him, but from what I have seen...he plays well...he is 25/19 over about 300 hands

couldn't figure out what the hell he could have here..

I hadn't seen him call down in a hand like this before..he was always raising or folding...raising big at that when he flopped a set or something

on the river, I was going to put out a bet and fold to a raise...then errr...I dunno, I checked to induce a bluff but I was clueless here..I payed to see what he had

any thoughts?

Is this a situation where bet/folding the river would be better than checking like this?

If you check to induce a bluff, you've got to call it. If you don't want to do that, then you are better just betting $8-9 on the river and folding to a shove.

BB could have anything here pf, so his VPIP and PFR don't really help.

Depending on his AF, I put him on a hand that is afraid of a fourth [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (like 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3:heart) or a hand that needs the fourth [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], (like K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7)
W/O a read, I'd throw it away. I don't make big plays w/o reads.

What was his AF?

Click on his name in PT and scroll to the right until it gets to Total AF.

I call.

I think a villain that aggressive knows that he needs to bet to protect his baby flush or set. Also, such a villain might choose to bluff on the river in position, where a more passive player might have just checked.

There's a chance that he had something like K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]7 or 87, but I think you can win this more than 33% of the time.

Still, it is a tough spot. I probably would have made life easier for myself and just bet the river.

based on your read i dont think villian is goin to call a river bet w/ anything we beat. If he is good then he should be foldin like AJ/AT there. And based on your read that villian raises when he actually has a hand makes me think he has a weak Ax hand and checkin can induce a bluff on this board just sucks he makes a PSB. What 7x is in this guy's range?? 87 he probably raises flop A7 as well. Maybe Kh7?? And you think he would throw in a raise w/ a flush so i call here on the river...
