TT hand
Tyler and I talked about this one.
15/30 WYNN (me=dumb) (Note: blinds are $10/15) Some player opens UTG and a bad loose player coldcalls in mid-late position. An unknown player makes it 3 from the button. I'm in the small blind with TT. I fold. |

Re: TT hand
I think it's a pretty horrid fold, even moreso in 2/3 structure. You're getting like almost 5:1 immediate.
EDIT: You also play well enough postflop to get away if your hand isn't best. |

Re: TT hand
i would call based on odds + implied odds alone, and lead if i flop a set expecting to trap the entire field for mucho bets.

Re: TT hand
I don't think it's a horrid fold. It's certainly close.

Re: TT hand
ak13's point about postflop is a good one.
Kit's point about leading if you flop a set and trapping the field is a poor one, given that the first PFR is on your immediate left*. * He could also cap behind you, ruining both your immediate and implied odds. It's not a terrible fold. A better read on the first PFR would make the decision easier. |

[/ QUOTE ] geez I keep misreading the OP post. if PFR doesnt cap pf i dont understand why leading the flop is bad for a set. CR the button is horrific if it calls the PFR to fold UI overs. e.g. if the flop is T36 or something, if you CR the button here and shutout the rest of the field thats a huge error. |

Vgas rules: 5th bet is the cap out here. [/ QUOTE ] read on UTG raise then matters. if UTG is a nit, 5 bets is too much, and i fold to the original 3 bet. 5 cap is news to me...good to know if i'm ever in vegas. |

Re: TT hand
clarification nit: the cap varies from room to room. most Vegas rooms have a cap at 5, but some have 4, and the stardust used to cap at 6. sometimes a straddle changes how many bets can go in preflop.
these are good things to find out before you sit down at a table anywhere in the world. anyway, i do not think the number of bets available has much impact, if any, on the proper play in this spot. |

Re: TT hand
Never played in the Wynn 15 but TT doesn't look so good against a typical live 3-bettor. They have you crushed and aren't gonna go off with just an overpair.
