Hand 1. Call. Particularly if the timing was that he immediately pushed the turn. It smells like combo draw. Other players can do this w/ hands like 99. I don't know villain, and it sounds like you don't have a read other, but against a total stranger's range, I think you have the odds.

Hand 2. I'd MUCH prefer to b/3b the flop. He could easily be raising something like KQ, or diamonds (w/ no pair in his hand). The only hand we are scared of (legimitately) is 777, and that is unlikely. The point is, put the pressure on your opponent.

As played, snap call turn. You have two pair (which is probably behind based on teh new action) - but you ahve redraws, and there is just too much money in the pot to consider folding.
