PS $10, somewhat common situation
This situation is not a make-or-break decision, but at the time I felt it was common and important enough to get others' opinion on. The main question is how you play it preflop, followed by how you plan to play flop depending on what comes.

Doesnt have a great grasp of the game but isnt making outrageous bets or calls. At the time, UTG limp looked like big pair hoping it gets raised somewhere after or small pair set mining. Could also be something like suited broadways but i give the most credit to any rank PP. </font> My thinking was that I can keep the pot small, if i hit (set or overpair) ill assume im ahead and build it then. On the flop, I made the mistake of checking. I should have bet out and folded if UTG pushed, but i wanted to give him a chance to bet a ragged flop. In hindsight, i def. should have bet flop, luckily it didnt matter here. Thoughts preflop? What if flop came with one overcard, still bet out? |

Re: PS $10, somewhat common situation
PF: fine. If stacks were different and you had a different read, shove.
Flop: gotta bet out 60-70% pot here. Too many turn scare cards and there's a good chance you're ahead on this flop and can take it down without a battle. If an overcard came out, check/fold. Just not worth messing around in marginal situations for hundreds of chips. |

Bet the flop, you have the best hand a lot.
Call the turn. |

Re: PS $10, somewhat common situation
bet flop call turn as played
one overcard depends on opponents, id probably still lead at it and shut down if called. |
