Default Getting check raised with AQ on A high rainbow flop.

Ultimate Bet - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1.00 Blinds - 5 Players -

Villain is 29/17/1.8 after 100 hands
No real history between us, 1st pot I was involved in with him.

Tibokimo is at seat 0 with $110.75.
Hero is at seat 1 with $94.
bigslick526 is at seat 2 with $48.45.
St_Etienne is at seat 4 with $100.50.
Solid247 is at seat 5 with $123.50.
The button is at seat 2.



Preflop: Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 Players)
1 folds, Hero raised to $4, St_Etienne calls, 1 fold.

Flop: ($9) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Villain checks, Hero bets $7, villain re-raises to $23, Hero...

i think a call is good here vs. this villain.

he's definitely aggro enough PF to 3-bet AK. and the disparity between his VPIP and PF means he's cold-calling w/ more than just PP's

What do you do if he then bets 2/3-full pot on turn? Fold if we don't catch a backdoor flush?

If we do get a backdoor flush? Call to spike? He's repping a hand that beats ours, certainly.

I'm not OP, but these types of situations I think are the toughest situations in poker.

Doesn't mean he's check raising with more than a set. Call might be okay, but turn is a fold unimproved.

Call flop, fold turn. He shouldnt and probably doesnt try to push you off an Ace here and your hand is pretty face up.

i call and fold to big bet on turn unless catch something. smells like 2 pair to me
