Re: Retarded Spot in Mil ([censored] minraiser)
so let me get this right. your against shortie, flop top pair, and are getting about 2.4ish to 1 to make the call/shove. if your not calling this you shouldnt be playing this hand. if he had 20k it be one thing, but he's only got 6k left -

Fold pf (to minraise). As played, call and hope that you two pair the turn or that he checks a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and you can open shove the river.

Re: Retarded Spot in Mil ([censored] minraiser)
Have the antes kicked in yet? They don't seem like much this early but they do help swing the math in your favor. If you do make the call pre-flop (which I think you should given your stack, you need to have a plan as to whether you will stack off if you flop top pair. If you plan to stack off here you need to just open shove the flop and give your opponent a chance to fold, which isn't that likely but definitely more likely if you open jam instead of checking and making him put even more of his stack in the pot at which time he has to call with any 2 overs.

Re: Retarded Spot in Mil ([censored] minraiser)
below he has enough behind compared to the flop that if we think he will commit himself with overs and not checkbehind we should be checking. If we think he will check a decent amount of the time behind with OPs/sets/air then we have a much tougher decisions.
I like how this is played I always call the PF minbet good for image to not give up immediately even if its slightly -ev in a vacuum there are other good things to come from this hand then a few chips. |

BeL0W [/ QUOTE ] ? Him calling us with two overs is good for us. Personally i think it should be a fold preflop since the minreraise usually equals big pair, and we're simply not going to flop good enough despite the good odds the miniraise gives us. But if you decide to call pre and then decide that you're not folding once you flop top pair, checking is def better than pushing. A better hand never folds to a push. You only push out hands we want to get all in with. Checking at least allows us to get some chips from the unlikely overcards. |
