25NL: Value bet river with aces?
Villain is 32/3/1.6 over 100 hands
Pacific Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.13/$.025 Blinds - 10 Players SB: $23 Hero: $24.80 MP1: $21 Preflop: Hero is dealt Ad Ac(10 players) Hero raises $1.00, 1 fold, MP1 calls $1.00, 5 folds, , SB calls $0.63, BB folds Flop: ($3.25) Ks 6d 2c (3 Players) SB checks, Hero bets $3.00, MP1 calls $3.00 , BB folds Turn: ($9.25) Jd(2 Players) Hero checks, MP1 bets $2.75, Hero calls River: ($14.05) 8s (2 Players) Hero?? Is the turn check standard. Its made another hand that beats me, and villain is unlikey to have any draw. Now river, villain is alsmost never bluffing river if checked to IMO. He may check down KJ. I have $18, and villain has $14, so if hes goes all in i have 2:1 odds. Check or chuck out a small value bet (say $3) |

Re: 25NL: Value bet river with aces?
If your hand was best of the flop, then it's still best now.
You check the turn for pot control. That's fine. And the call of MP1's mini-bet is fine too. Bet half the pot on the river. That's a nice value bet, 'cause it's very likely to get called by all kinds of worse hands. And if he shoves you call. I wouldn't be afraid of a set, because a set would bet more on the turn, and I don't see pocket 8's making that turn bet, or that flop call for that matter. No flushes or straights are possible. Sets are unlikely. Sell your hand for what you think you can get, and if he shoves you call. |

Re: 25NL: Value bet river with aces?
I think checking the Turn is fine.
I would bet $5-7 on River. |
