Home Poker Networking Software
I tried doing a search on this topic couldn't find anything.
I'd like to find some software that will allow my friends and relatives to play a home game of poker via the internet (ie we're all playing in different locations). I would like the software to allow the option to play either RING or Tournament games. This doesn't have to be separate software, it could also be a website that will allow me to restrict who plays. In addition to having the same basic features as any online poker site here are the additional requirements that I would need for the software: 1- ability to play tournaments or rings 2- ability to specify the # of starting chips, 3- ability to control blinds (amount and time) 4- ability to handle 2-10 players (multiple tables a plus) any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Poker Stars allows private tournaments but their minimum buy-in is $10 (plus they keep $1 per player which comes out to at least $10 per tournament). Ideally, I would like to have $5 tournaments. Plus, with the new internet gaming laws, some of the players will have difficulty funding their accounts. |

Re: Home Poker Networking Software
Poker Academy allows you to set up private tournaments/tables. I believe that one person will need the Pro version ($100) to set up the tourney, all others can use the standard ($30-ish) version.
PS - it's also a great tool for improving your game, highly recommended. |

Re: Home Poker Networking Software
I was just looking for the same thing the other day. I haven't tried any of them yet, but I got a bunch of results searching the Open Source repository over on sourceforge (www.sf.net).
good luck with your search. sf.net |

Re: Home Poker Networking Software
Why not just use play $ accounts on a sites that allow private games.I have done this and as long as everyone pays up it works. But you would not be able to control blinds or starting chips.
