Well at the time I thought I was setting it up for him to bluff into me on the river. I felt like once I checked the turn, I had to call the river. Perhaps I should have reraised preflop? Also, I couldnt get a converter to work on this hand. Can someone link me to a good FTP one?

You realize Tedsfishfry is Shaundeeb right?

Anyhow, I am pretty sure Shaun hates getting re-raised PF, so I'd be doing that a lot against him and definitally here.

After that, I think your line is okay. I think I would tend to bet the turn b/c any A or K is going to make calling the river scary (about 12% of the time assuming he has one, more if he doesn't).

Given your line, I certainly can't fold the river. Shaun is certainly capable of firing a river bluff here (of course he is also capable of value betting KK as well).

Edit: BTW, not that this hand is super interesting (it is still a tough and interesting spot), but I can't believe that it fell all the way to the bottom of the board (almost off) without a single response yet. LOL.

I think it's really important for you to include what shaun thinks of you here. Unless you didn't know this was shaun, but if you didn't then why include the name in the title?

I thought more about this hand on my public transportation bus ride in today.

Shaun almost never has KK-AA here by this river. I would have expected him to check this flop with those hands.

AQ,KQ,JQ are all possibilities though. Shaun is aggressive and in being so, he will probably bet the flop with whiffed hands as well as strong hands (like trips). I think the other hands in his range by the river include lower pairs, two unpaired cards, and JQ-AQ. Oh yeah, he doesn't have QQ either.

So calling on the river has to be +EV against his range.

I actually didnt know that it was shaun. I looked up his stats, saw he was a very winning player, so i figured people on these boards would know him. I can say that he pretty much schooled me in the late stages of this tournament. See this hand where I get into trouble with 55 against him: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...c=#Post10960240

3betting pf is not optimal considering Shaun's raising UTG and you guys are deep.

You played the hand perfectly.

This is a pot sized bet on the river. If he doesn't know you, you can fold.

JJ is ahead of Shauns range for betting this river (esp. considering you checked behind turn).

Calling > Folding to his river bet

a few people sweating me during this hand hated my turn instacheck I was very surprised you checked the turn behind on me here I was pretty sure of your hand range and thought you would def bet 99-JJ there agread of an A/K river because of my solid image of hitting the cards neccessary in big pots or making you fold getting lots of chips in there already.

I like how you played and I think I am bluffing this river far less often then people think, though I could think I am VB 1010 here as well.
