Default OT: WSOP sat defending BB vs big stack aggressor

Villain (tournament leader) joined table 12 hands ago and is betting every hand and has taken down 6 of last 12 pots since joining the table. OK to shove or do I still need a hand? (misc info: 1st is buy-in to WSOP, 2-9 get $650, approx 36 players remain)

I usually don't like to do this with complete garbage. A wide range including suited connecters and other similar hands is fine but I think you have to fold here. Could be wrong though.

I fold this. You'll easily find better spots to get your money in against a player like this.

Why not post in MTT Strat? SNG concepts don't really apply.

By "betting every hand" you mean that he is literally raising every PF hand he gets? If you're sure about that, this is an easy push. There is about 5K in the pot and you'll have about 13K if you fold. That's a huge chunk of your stack and he's going to be folding a lot if he is raising ATC.

Meh, I dunno that I agree with this. Bigstacks don't get their mountain of chips by folding a lot. I'd expect your typical LAG bigstack to be calling super-wide here, and I don't think J2 is what I want to be holding when he does.

YMMV

Big stacks don't stay big stacks by raising ATC every hand and calling pushes with ATC every hand. Has nobody come over the top of him yet? That read would help a lot. In MTTs reads are waaaaaaaaaaay more important than SNGs, so I would just go by what you've seen in the 12 or so hands he's played. Is he on ATC here, and if so, what % of that is he calling with? Once you know that, it's a simple math problem and just remember that before long, with these blinds, you are going to be hoping for a 50/50 coinflip.
