Default VALUE BET?

10/20 NL 5handed. 2000 effective stacks

dont know much about UTG but he seems solid/tricky/tag/blah blah

UTG opens to 70...folded to me in the BB and I call with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (against solid UTG raiser i'm prolly 3betting 65%, calling 35% in this spot)

Flop is K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I check, UTG bets 115, I checkraise to 400. he calls.

Turn is J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I check. UTG checks behind.

River is 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
Action?

Thoughts on every street?

It really looks like he has AA here and he's afraid of a 2 pair hand that you could cold call out of the blinds with..That said, you could block bet river instead of check calling but I doubt it's ever for value as he's usually showing up with the same hand as yours or AA. I think any flopped set plays flop faster bc of all the draws.

I'd usually c/c flop, but I don't dislike the c/r. As played, I'd definitely c/c river.

check/call is standard--but check/raising with the intention of calling an allin is more profitable against a lot of guys (dont know enough about this guy to know what he does with TJ and other marginal draws, but prolly fine)

[/ QUOTE ]If you're making this assumption about a taggish unknown in the 2K game, then I'd think c/f here.

against an unknow i'd sacrifice the river value for information showdown. check/check, check/call river.

I think you're contradicting yourself there - if check-raising and calling AI against him is "fine" there's no reason not to 3-bet AKs. FWIW, calling an AI against a solid tag/blah blah is probably a bad idea in that spot.

As played, I would just check the river again as I don't see him calling with worse often enough to make the bet very profitable, and if he's as good as you think, he might even shove better hands or a bluff, and either way you're not in a great spot.

I dunno, my 2c.

Not a huge fan of the preflop/flop play.
