The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ
Sup bros,
I have expressed interest in getting this going a couple times in the past. The mods have given me the go-ahead to get this going and get any other input you might have. The last time this was run was like Fall 2005. In case you don’t remember or are new since then, here is how this goes. I have also incorporated suggestions made about the past process. Guidelines for the MicroPoster <ul type="square">[*] Once a month, I’ll pick an individual microposter who frequents the forum, and PM him/her for a review session.[*] "MicroPoster," an all-purpose user acct for anonymity, will be used to post the session. The thread will be locked and stickied.[*] Individuals respond to individual hands, providing input in new threads (see below)[*] A session should exclude obvious preflop folds, however any borderline/questionable hands should be included.[*] The MicroPoster should include any reads / stats known at the beginning of the session, and provide any stats/reads that have developed throughout the session.[*] The session should be modified using “find and replace” in MS Word (try the free Open Office, if you don’t have MS Word) to assign arbitrary names to villains (see here for more info).
Guidelines for responses to the MicroPoster <ul type="square">[*]To respond to a specific hand from the session, post a new thread, unless a thread already exists for that hand. In that case, post under the existing thread for that hand.[*]Use this convention for a new hand from the session: MicroPoster hand ####### [hole cards][*]If you wish to provide general feedback for the session, start a new thread with the subject “MicroPoster Session: General Feedback” (unless that thread already exists).
Sound goot? Re: The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ
yeah understandably--it's been almost 2 years, i.e. pre-BBB!
here is how it's different than normal reviews: * there is only ONE session & it occurs once/month--it is from an anonymous poster (this could change) (unlike many session pairings) * everyone in the forum publicly comments on the ONE session |

It's whatever the chosen poster plays.

Re: The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ
sounds goot - but I have a question (maybe suggestion but I'm not sure of the logistics). Seems like a lot of posters are posting videos of sessions lately. Is it feasible for to post a MicroPoster video session each month?? seems easier to watch than to read all the hand histories - plus if the poster is running PA-HUD the numbers he has available will be displayed for all to see.

Re: The MicroPoster Review Session FAQ
We talked a bit about that, and I read some of that in old threads. Video is OK, but you get the full session at "play speed"--preflop folds and all, and you can't scan it as fast as going through a bunch of HHs. Also, the first microposter will be relatively new to the forum, so they may not be savvy to video'ing (I could be completely wrong here). I could see posting the HHs + video, and ppl can choose go through either/both.
