Default [PS 16+1 (18)] I should have folded, but didn\'t:. Now what?

This is not a pat on the back, but two hands that really made me nervous, even given the outcome. But, someone I respect says "Money in NL doesn't come from big pairs, but from cracking them."

Clearly, I got lucky here. So early in the tourney, do you put guys on aces with this action? Fold pf? On the flop? On the turn? Should he have called? This is technically not a stt, but an 18 seat. The action in one of these seems to play a lot like a 9 seat, especially early. I thought he missed on the flop, thought at the turn I might be in trouble, but felt I had to make a play on the river after the check.

Thanks for any input. I know I sucked out, just wanted some input.

I was 1/2 expecting to see KQ from UTG+1, but felt like I had to bet it when he didn't on the river.

fold preflop
KJ is too weak to call with preflop
As played, push turn

I'm curious: push versus that bet with Top pair, OK kicker? Why? I hadn't considered it, honestly, and don't know where to start. Would you read the bet as trying to take it down?

I also apologize for failing to post the second hand, but it was essentially a "did I bet too much" against what looked like two pair versus broadway on the river.

Actually, this is AK a lot, so I will reconsider, and fold flop and turn..At least turn

I'm with you, honestly. What do you do, after making the mistakes, and he checks on the river? Do you still think AK?

As everyone has said fold preflop. The bet on flop looks strong I think you have to fold there, definitely fold turn.
He's checking the river because he's worried you called down with a king and got lucky. If he has AK he's putting you all in hoping you had KQ/KJ.
