Some help with the lingo...
I have been a member of 2p2 for a while, and have used a lot of what's been posted to help me become better. I am now at the point where I too want to be posting my hands to get more personal advice.
To do this however, I'd really like to have a strong grasp on all the lingo and jargon used regulairly. Here's a starting list of terms that I know, but don't feel like I completely understand. Please add some so other people can have questions answered too. I'd suggest sort of defining them as best as possible, and including an example. What do TAG, LAG, NITTY, etc... mean? When people classify an opponent's range using 52/15/10 or even just two. What does x/y/z represent? What is Meta Game? I plan on adding to this as I continue to post and hope others do the same. Much apperciated. |

Re: Some help with the lingo...
TAG: Tight-Aggressive
LAG: Loose-Aggressive nit: a player who is very "nit-picky" about hands. Usually only plays premium hands, sometimes to the absolute extreme x/y/z: stats used on PokerTracker. x: % of the time the player voluntarily put $ in the pot y: % of the time the player raises pre-flop z: Agression Factor (Bet% + Raise%/ Call%) meta game: different thinking levels. Ex. "What if he thinks that I think he thinks...", that kinda [censored] |
