Default Daewon vs. Rodney - Who Won?

Daewon Song and Rodney Mullen have competed with each other over a three-part video series called Daewon vs. Rodney Round 1, 2 , and 3.

Song has long been my favorite skater b/c his moves are the most tech and thorough. However, it is hard to argue with the uniqueness of Mullen's stuff.

My friends and I have argued endlessly over who won the matches and we each have our sides. So, to squash it, I wanted to poll the OOT crowd. Whether or not you have any skating knowledge/experience, you should cast your vote (their styles transcend the sport).

Rodney Mullen

vs.

Daewon Song

Rodney has it by far, it's obvious his tricks required much more attention to detail and raw repetition to perform as flawlessly has he does.

They both are sick good. Rodney I think is more technical, but most of his moves are done on on the ground or maybe on a small ledge.

Daewon I think is more impressive just because he does big gaps while doing the technical stuff and he just flows better imo.

I voted daewon.

Great poll.

My insight:

Round 1 - Rodney

Round 2 - Draw

Round 3 - Daewon

I could say tie but that would be too easy. So, in looking at other parts, Daewon has gone to a whole other level. Also, he is quickly becoming a more well rounded skater. His abilities on transition have gone outer limits. Just check out Cheese and Crackers or Skate More.

Bottom line is, you could bring Daewon anywhere (street, pool, pipe, ramp, etc.) and he is going to blow your mind. Rodney could only confuse us on flatground with some one foot obstacles.

Vote goes to Daewon.

rodney is one of a kind. i haven't payed attention to skating in a long time, but can anyone else do what he does?

i've seen the first 2, and i was always blown away by rodney. daewon is sick too, but rodney has always left me completely amazed.
