Default My dog did this to my door frame. Beyond repair?

What's the easiest way to remedy this? If it's at all complicated, I will outsource it to Craigslist of course. Am I completely [censored]? It kind of feels that way looking at it. I rent, but I just moved in so I need to take care of it. I'd rather not involve the landlord if possible.

power sander, spackle, some paint (ghetto way), or put a new door frame on.

Whatever you do, don't let the landlord see it. You'll surely end up paying more for the repair.

hehe...thats why I said its teh ghetto way. when i was growing up, you didnt go to home depot or anything like that, if you had the stuff around the house to fix it, you did it so, if not, it didnt get fixed. some people MIGHT have spackle, because spackle just seems to be everywhere, if you didnt have spackle. oatmeal. if you didnt have any of these it doesnt get fixed.

Oatmeal and wood glue (think yellow glue, not white) is suprisingly strong, sandable, and takes paint ok.

Keeping it in the hood.

if i may add my own fix-it problem to this thread,

if someone had a similar scratch on a sheetrock wall, how would one go about repairing that?
