SH NL20: Flop decision with set, isolate fish or not
Reads:
CO seems to be ok player, little too loose pf. I'm not sure what this min-reraise means. Her estimated range: big pair or AK. I'm not sure about AQ, TT, JJ. My image: CO probably thinks I'm a TAG. Although I have tilted some chips away in other sessions so I might also seem a bit mentally unstable. BB is the fish. HAND Texas Hold'em NL $0.10/$0.20 Seat 1: BTN ($18.90 in chips) DEALER Seat 3: SB ($19.80 in chips) Seat 6: BB ($12.85 in chips) Seat 8: Hero ($30.05 in chips) Seat 10: CO ($63.15 in chips) SB: Post SB $0.10 BB: Post BB $0.20 HOLE CARDS Dealt to Hero 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] PRE-FLOP Hero: Raise $0.80 CO: Raise $1.40 BTN: Fold SB: Fold BB: Call $1.20 Hero: Call $0.60 FLOP 10[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (pot $4.30) BB: Check Hero: Check CO: Bet $3.00 BB: Allin $11.45 Hero: Allin $28.65 CO: Fold So flop is quite nice. CO is very likely to c-bet and last time BB folded to flop bet was: never. So this seems like a good place for a big c-r. Suddenly BB goes all-in. There is a FD on board so I decide to isolate the fish. We are also some what deep with CO so 3-way doesn't sound like a good idea. At the time this seemed like a good idea but then I started thinking. My plan only works if CO has A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] or unlikely A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. It's much more likely that she has over pair. If she has AKo, she won't call anyway. So should I have tried to trap CO by calling and then play for my stack on later streets? Did I miss some value here? |

Re: SH NL20: Flop decision with set, isolate fish or not
Bet flop. People don't cbet multi-way pots with nothing and you need to protect the flush + build a pot.
In a multi way pot, I'm always getting my money in ASAP with a big hand like top 2 pair or a set. Always. |
