Default 2nd nuts - EZ fold?

Live 2/5. Villain is a 1/2 player who loves to run his mouth and thinks I am a complete lunatic. He is a huge nit and is up a lot, has avoided playing big pots now for a while. However, I have seen him make big raises and reraises as if to protect a huge hand when he thinks it's good, but he is not a great handreader so sometimes those raises have been kinda spewy.

Anyway I straddle for 10, I have about 1300 and he covers.

Limped a bunch of ways, he is UTG. Flop QT7 with a spade draw, I have J8 of clubs. Checked around.

Turn is the 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] putting another flush draw out. I lead for 40 and he raises to 115. Folds back to me. I think for a minute and raise another 200 on top. Although he thinks I'm crazy we haven't really tangled much.

He thinks for like a minute, checks my stack and raises another 500. I fold.

Yeah? His first turn raise is a semi-bluff like never, he has some kind of made hand here, it's just a question of how made.

you mean 3-bet folding? against this villain i think it's better, gets more money in the pot when he has a set or a worse straight, costs the same as just calling down or donking river when i'm behind.

yea mistyped. 3bet-folding.

it doesnt cost the same either. If you dont make it to showdown, your hand has no value and is in essence ATC.

wtf? your read is he sucks and hell make huge reads without necessarily the nuts. if you plan on folding to his 4bet dont make the 3bet. just try to get to showdown i guess. i really dont see how you can call him a nit though .
