Default If you don\'t usually read the \"Tournament Circuit/WSOP\" forum...

You've simply GOT to see the uproar caused by the confusing new card design at the WSOP this year...

(Is that a 6 or a 9? What suit is that???)

...as well as the ridiculousness of requiring satellite players to stand in the mile-long lines at the sign-in desk to sign up for their freaking one-table satellites, while dozens of dealers sit at empty tables in the satellite area.

We don't need to discuss how horrible all this is--that discussion is already taking place in the Circuit/WSOP forum. I just thought that the B&M posters might find the situation interesting, to say the least.

As somebody over there wrote, "Is it that hard to run the WSOP???"

The dealers and the floors for the cash games are absolutely atrocius. They lost my business for the month.

those cards are bizarrely hilarious.

No surprise for long-lines for the single-table sats.
I waited in line for almost an hour at the WPO-Tunica with all the single-table satters.
They eventually get those things trimmed down somewhat I believe. But would hopefully be better organized from the beginning one would think.

Bad dealers and bad floor losing people's business there is not surprising either.

I guess I'll check out the thread in the tourney-circuit forum.
those cards are REALLY hilarious.

I disagree, I thought some of the dealers were more efficient and faster than some of the Mirage dealers for example (not picking on the Mirage, just using it as an example because at one time they were perceived to be the best and a lot of the dealers have been working there for many many years), I was surprised at how good some of them were. The bad apples were much fewer in the cash game area this year that I noticed.

Of the 4 dealers I had 3 admitted this was their first time dealing. Not that that means much, but 1 in particular made a mistake in every hand he dealt that down. started counting after the 5th or so hand and we got maybe 20 hands in that 1/2 hr. I had to leave, bc this was tilting me. They also could not keep the seats filled even though the list was a mile long. I obv dont mind playing short, but the fish usually do and they quit b4 the game fills back up. Also if the floorman happened to learn that a seat was open and the player closest to him wanted that game he got it, meaning seats were sold out of turn. Several players remarked about this.

P.S. My frame of reference is a little jaded, bc I tend to play in rooms who are noted for having the best dealers in the country so this was a bit of a shock. I also realize that my sample is small, bc there have to be at least 1,000 dealers in that place.

remember this is the WSOP, everyone is a home town hero. People are more apt to play shorthanded here in the mid limits.[ QUOTE ]

This little side effect will also save you hours of waiting on the list. Just wait till you see a seat open and sit down, your saving the floor a lot of trouble (tell him of course, dont just assume). The real problem is the list/paging system is flawed, people are outside and miss their turn.

For how many players? In a full ring game, this is a good rate.
