Wireless router has lost it\'s range.
I don't know anything about this stuff, so I try to describe my problem, but I'm sure I'll leave out the necessary information.
Anyway, suddenly tonight my wireless router is not working very well. My desktop is not communicating with it at all, and my laptop is only working when it's within like 10-15 feet. If I move it any further from the router, I lose the signal. I use a D-link DI-524. Any thoughts on were to start my troubleshooting? Edit: Also, it seems to drop the connection to the router as soon as I plug in the AC adapter to the laptop. |

Re: Wireless router has lost it\'s range.
Do you have any new neighbors? How many other wireless networks can you see?

There is no other high speed available... So, I'm saying my neighbours are not an issue |

Re: Wireless router has lost it\'s range.
So there is no interference. Google has told me this is a common problem with the DI-524. Multiple people report a effective range of about 15 feet. My only suggestion is to reset the router to factory defaults and set it to broadcast G-only instead of mixed (if you have 802.11g cards). You can try changing the wireless channels. Channels 1,6, and 11 are standard. Good luck.
