Default Summer playlists

2 hour drive tomorrow for a typical british weekend in blackpool w/ 5 friends w/ varied music tastes so i quickly put this somewhat cheesey, somewhat overpopular but all well loved playlist together.

I'm sure i could greatly improve on this, or make it less broad, but i'm pretty happy with it for a 5 minute job.

Post your happy-go-lucky summer playlists, or summer feel good songs.

edit: I should have changed Nice weather for Ducks for '75 Aka Stay With You.

Nice job on the Jet and Hot Chip picks, and anything by Lemon Jelly is wholly suitable imho. You need Dodgy's "Good Enough" on there tho - obligatory summer anthem. And Spiller's "Groovejet", and Daft Punk "One More Time". I know it's summer when that stuff comes on the radio.

Haven't heard that OCS song in a long time - you got me singing it now...

My feel good song at this very moment is Count on Me.

(listening to it right now ).

It was played in the movie The Family Stone.

Spiller's "Groovejet"

Great call. This reminded me of Bob Marly vs Funkstar Deluxe - Sun Is Shining which was an okay one.

I might make another extremely pop one. Since the gf wants Bedouin Soundclash - When The Night Feels My Song too.

Yeah, I think no Summer soundtrack is complete without a bit of Bob Marley. Something lighthearted like 'Three Little Birds' or 'Don't Worry Be Happy' is always good.

I'm really enjoying the Rhapsody artist channel, "Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov." It plays stuff from him and that's "similar." Real upbeat, often lush and beautiful. I always loved the Scheherezade album I used to have of his, and wanted to revisit him. Maybe not traditional summer music by current standards, but great for a summer evening picnic.
