Default CAZ making real effort to enforce rules & improve etiquette

Recently I complained loudly about what I considered Casino Arizona's lackadaisical approach (non-approach, actually) to enforcing many rules, especially those relating to game integrity. Thru the intervention of a fellow 2p2er the thread was shown to the manager in charge of dealer meetings and she felt that I made some good points and I am told that after reading the thread she printed my post and handed it out at the next dealer meeting. I've been asked if I am so and so by a few dealers and was a bit *worried* about how they'd react but there's been nothing but positive feedback so far.

I want to take this opportunity to tell anyone interested that there has been a remarkable change in rules and etiquette enforcement in the past week. Last night was my first night playing in over a week and I was amazed at what was going on. In the first 3 downs alone the dealers were telling players repeatedly to speak English during the play of the hand, not to flash cards and that there was to be ONE player to a hand and not to talk about the hand in progress. One player (a nice guy) showed his hand to his neighbor who starts to say something and the dealer tells them 'One player to a hand.' The fellow says 'Really? Nobody's told me that in 2 years.' I'm very impressed.

I spoke again to the manager and she told me that CAZ is going to stay on top of the situation and I thanked and congratulated her. I'm sure they mean it and I thank and encourage them and thank 2p2 itself as well because I think the participants in the thread were a great help as well.

Cool. Good to hear about the positive turn around.

Time will tell if they keep at it and IMO the biggest factor will be if their tips don't decline because of it.

Good for you. People, please, complain to the floor and shift managers and dealer captains and anybody who will listen about all the crap that goes on at the tables. A lot of times dealers don't get support from the floor, so it's fruitless and only holds up games and causes irritation to try to be a one-person fix-it crew. So keep that in mind when complaining, and don't hold it too much against a dealer who just can't be bothered to engage in yet another winless fight on the table.

Dealers will appreciate it. So will customers.

Do you admit to who you are and, if so, do people ask you to share the expertise of Asian massage parlors that you have posted about in OOT?

Pretty cool that they're trying to change. The effort itself is very telling of the type of managerial methodology in place.

Aw hell, now I'm going to have to venture over to OOT.

Even though I live over 1,500 miles from CAZ, I'm very appreciative of what you did for the players and staff there. Besides the improved game integrity, it will be much better for the dealers if the floor staff actually gets in the habit of regularly backing them up (read: doing their job).

I wish all those relaying the horror tales of California poker would cause the same result through whatever efforts it takes.

Oddly I think this is a vindication that communication with management is the solution, not withholding tips. Nobody will every change without knowing there is a concern that change is needed.

A number of 2p2ers (and RGPers) know me already. These are some dealers who've been asking me since the OP was handed out at the meeting.

Anyway, errr...., I've been sharing stories about AMP's for a while. I have no shame.

The floor people have ALWAYS backed up the dealers. That was never an issue. The issue was that the culture of the room itself had gotten to the point that it was making me 'crazy'. There were a few dealers who were good at doing what they should've all along but most weren't. They've now been given instructions to bear down and they are doing it. I'm hoping that in a couple months the culture will change for the better and all will be well.
