Setting up steroid leagues
A new football or baseball league say where steroids were not tested for not frowned upon or regulated in any way. Would this idea take off? Would you watch it? Would it make the non steroid leagues fairer (assuming they went for a heavy crackdown after the new league set up)
There was some talk before of a splitting into a steroid and non steroid Olympics would it be a good idea in professional sports? |

Re: Setting up steroid leagues
I didn't watch it so I don't really know, however I don't recall the XFL doing too well.

Re: Setting up steroid leagues
How are these guys going to justify getting prescription steroids? Or are you just talking about stuff like Andro or other OTC stuff?

Re: Setting up steroid leagues
US gov't would never allow it - steroids are an image problem more than they are a fair competition problem.

Re: Setting up steroid leagues
Allowing steroids would only make sense if the quality of play rose above the level of the existing leagues. I doubt that would happen. They couldn't get any marketing value out of the roids because then the feds would be on them.

If you want to watch steroided freaks do athletic things, watch professional wrestling.

Re: Setting up steroid leagues
As I mentioned in the other steroid thread, professional bodybuilding has such a division. The IFBB (the premier bodybuilding organization in the world) doesn't test for roids. Then there are "natural" bodybuilding organizations that do test for roids. As you might imaging, IFBB competitors are a lot bigger than "natural" bodybuilders.
