Bar bets

I work part time as a bartender and have picked up a few. A quick google searched came up with some I already know and some pretty stupid ones too. Here's some of my favorites

Bet someone you can drink 2 glasses of beer before they can take one shot. Rules are you get to drink your first glass and set it down before they touch the shot glass, and no one is allowed to touch your glasses. Chug your first beer and then set your glass upside down over the shot glass. Collect money.

Bet someone you can throw a matchstick and make it land on it's side. Have then try it... It's impossible. Now take the matchstick and bend it at a 45 degree angle... It will land on its side.

Have someone buy a shot. The more expensive the better. Place a dollar bill on top of their shot glass and say "I bet you this dollar I can drink this shot without moving the dollar." Take the dollar off and drink the shot. You just got a $5 drink for a buck.

Take a small plate with a raised edge and put soda or water in it. Set it on the bar. Also set out a piece of fruit, a wine glass, a book of matches and some other random stuff. Bet the person you can get all the soda into the wine glass without touching the plate. Let them try it, using whatever method they want. They can't do it. Take the book of matches and take out three. Stick them in the piece of fruit. Plate the fruit on the plate. Light the matches. Cover the fruit with the wine glass and the heat sucks all the soda inside. Collect money.

I totally love tricks like these... You can win all sorts of bets and have a blast. If you guys know any more, please share.

Saw it done on tv about a few weeks ago....

With a standard pint beer glass, bet someone a drink that the circumference of the top of the glass is bigger than the height of the glass. It certainly looks close at a glance.
They may hesitate.

Put glass on top of a pack of smokes.
Offer the bet again, this time for 2 drinks.
They still may hesitate.

Put glass on top of a pack of smokes and a standard cell phone.
Offer the bet again, this time for 3 drinks.
They still may hesitate.

Put glass on top of a pack of smokes,a standard cell phone, and an upside down astray (or something similar)
Offer the bet again, for however many drinks you want.

The standard circumference is somewhere around 11.5 inches, while the height is about 6 inches. To measure, wrap a napkin around the top pf the glass and mark where the ends of the napkin connect. Then compare that to the height.

Results may vary depending on your glass and other objects. Please verify your own measurements prior to attempting on a real mark.
