A Stupid Inquiry: Can a US player feasibly commute?
I've been out of the game for almost a year now--since most sites began banning US players, and apparently ever since the available games have tightened up significantly.
I live about an hour and a half from the Canadian border. Would it be feasible to go across, set up a bank account, and make the commute say, 3-4 times a week to get access to juicier games? Apologies in advance if this question has A: Been addressed before, or B: Is ridiculous. |

Re: A Stupid Inquiry: Can a US player feasibly commute?
No reason why not. A lot of people do commute one way or the other who are living up close to the border. With some technical jiggery pokery you wouldn't need to physically commute much either.

[/ QUOTE ] So you rent an apartment in Canada, set up some cheap furniture and your proxy server there, and use the proxy server to play from the US, through your own hardware in your own apartment. Party asks for proof you live in Canada, and the apartment's rent and utility bills prove this quite nicely. You may have to go up there twice a month or so to deal with mail and other concerns, but this is certainly better than not having access to Party, amirite? |

Re: A Stupid Inquiry: Can a US player feasibly commute?
You could probably get away with it if you rent an apartment in Canada...but I wouldn't consider it unless you are playing at least NL400 (and beating it). At NL200 and below, there are just too many beatable games available to US players for this to be worth it.

You can use proxies and such to play on non-US sites and it's not too difficult.
