Default Aussie Millions qualifying (or any 10k for that matter)

I know this is pretty early to be thinking about it, but its something that has crossed my mind over the last few months.

With all packages you are generally given 2k (i think) for traveling/lodging expenses. I live only 10 minutes from Crown casino, Melbourne, and would obviously not need any of this.

How likely do you think it would be for the average player to qualify for a 10k live event from online satellites with 1.5k. Basically if it takes the 1.5k or even 2k and get that money back in the travel expenses and practically play the aussie millions for free.

How does this sound to everyone? What are the likelihoods of qualifying off've 1.5K?

Btw, if this is the wrong forum (but i believe it is the right one) please place in the correct forum.

Thanks for the responses guys

I think, on average, it would be extremely difficult.

I say average because im not sure on the level of satellite players, if they are anywhere near the level of $11 > players then its alright.

Any suggestions/ideas on the amount to set aside to qualify? or tips even

The satellites they run online to the Aussie Millions don't have the typical crowd playing them, they're all locals. And they're all super bad. The Aussie Millions satellites are pretty much the softest ones I've ever played.

I won a satellite to the event the night before at the Crown. I'm sure there will be plenty of tournaments there doing it. If you're willing to invest a LITTLE bit of money you're going to qualify very easily into the tournament. No offense, but most australians are really bad at poker. Did you mean the offline sats are really easy, or both? A bit hard to understand from your post.

Gobbo definately meant the live sats run at crown, but from what i've heard these are very poor structures...

Will you be coming to AM this year gobbo? I should take you out clubbing, rofl..

But on a serious note, can anyone add anything else to the online sats?
Im more concerned about qualifying through them and practically taking the "travelling expenses" as a reembursement for the money i put up to try qualify

Chill out man + I think it's very weird that only Australians play the online sats. But if you say so...

That's what I thought, but found it pretty weird that "only locals" played them. Well duh?

Never mind the entire thing, lol.
