Re: HU question
It's almost the same. You can derive some information from the folded hands, but it's almost irrelevant. For example, you could theorize that since having an ace in the opening hand increments the chances of playing the hand more than any other card, when some people have folded, the blinds are slightly more likely than usual to hold an ace, just as the board is slightly more likely than usual to bring one or more aces. But to my understanding this is such a small correction it's not even worth considering.
PS: you are talking about hold'em, right? |

[ QUOTE ]

I can think of two right now. Firstly as someone pointed out, hands dealt to the blinds are likely to be a touch stronger. Secondly, is the more psychological effect of blind pressure. In a Full Ring game, the BB is more likely to fold as 'nicking' is a lesser part of the game, so the SB raise is different more likely to be legitimate. When you are playing HU, the first raise may be 'expected' with far worse hands and the BB far more likely to play back. Not sure if this mindset difference, would be regarded as 'theory' or not. |
