Default Ottawa Sens

QUACK QUACK

1 down. 3 more to go.

This is not a very good start to "their year".

How do they expect to win the Cup if they can't score an even strength goal? Discuss.

They were rusty, they definitely looked like a team that hadn’t played in 9 days.

They obviously will have to score some goals 5 on 5 yet, they would have won that game had they not blown that 95 seconds 5 on 3 PP.

Anaheim takes WAY too many penalties and it will catch up to them in the end.

I think it's pretty clear that they were worn out by the combo of constantly chasing after the puck and Anaheim's consistently aggressive checking.

I think we all can agree that Emery was very fortunate to not have more goals against last night. There were numerous times that he was completely beat and the puck just didn't find it's way in. I'm not saying he didn't have some great stops, but, this game could have easily been 6 to 2. And of course this is all with the Ducks taking 50% more penalties than the Sens.

Here's some interesting stats I came across:

In 1 Goal Games the Ducks are now 10-2.
In 1 Goal Games the Sens are now 7-4.

Giguere's overtime record: 12-1

Well, that may not be an issue if Anaheim keeps spending half the game in the penalty box.

Still, this was exactly what Ottawa fans had to be afraid of -- after a season in which they finally stopped believing their own hype and started playing like a team, last night they looked like they spent the week off reading their press clippings and deciding they were the globe trotters again. Nice drop passes Spezza.

All I know about the NHL is that coverage of the playoffs got cut off so they could show about a 2 hour preview of horse racing.

Didn't the Sens blow a 5 on 3 power play? The Ducks can afford a few penalties when the Sens don't capitalize on them.

Anaheim is (by far) the better team.

They also blew a 6 on 4 to end the game.
