Sports Guy/Rounders Quotes
I don't know how many of you guys are big Sports Guy fans but I stumbled upon this article from 2002, and this is a poker site after all. It is Sports guy recapping the 2001-2002 NBA season with Rounders quotes. I think this is Sports Guy in his absolute prime and some of his insights about Rounders are hilarious. Warning: it's pretty long.

Re: Sports Guy/Rounders Quotes
Ahh I miss Simmons' prime. He still has his moments, but he's not even close to what he used to be.

Re: Sports Guy/Rounders Quotes
This is really good, in more ways than one. The references to Rounders are pretty funny, but reliving some of the worst of 02 is great. My favorite part so far:
[ QUOTE ] So how was Johnny Chan the only guy in that room who ended up flopping a nut straight? How could Mike McD send Famke packing? There isn't a man alive who would have sent her packing under those circumstances. Not a one. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Sports Guy/Rounders Quotes
I think these two are my favorites.
[ QUOTE ] 9. "Nyet! Nyet! No more!" To ABC, ESPN, TNT, AOLTV, NBA.ComTV, the Spice Channel and everyone else showing NBA games next season ... if there is even one Heat-Knicks game on the docket next season, NBA fans all across America are filing a class-action suit. I'm serious. Nyet. [/ QUOTE ] As a Knick fan who watched them play in the playoffs 4 straight years, I agree wholeheartedly. [ QUOTE ] 31. "You take this money, and you get yourself out of this trouble. You hear me? I know that you can." (As for Martin Landau's law professor, the Unintentional Comedy Rating went through the roof for that scene: It was like a cross between "Rocky II" and "Yentl." Mike needs money, the professor likes him because Mike's talent for poker reminds him of how he fell in love with law back in 1875 ... so he decides to loan him 10 grand on the spot. Yup, that happens. But for Mike to get the money, he has to sit there and pretend he's interested in another one of the professor's stories about the time he nearly went into the Yeshiva back in 1875. I think I would have gotten up and left. You know what? I can't sit through another Yeshiva story; I'd rather get beaten up by the Russian mob. Thanks though.) [/ QUOTE ] |
