"Exclude me from playing"

I decided a few days ago to exclude myself from playing at Poker Stars for one week. I've just logged in to play the VIP freeroll only to find that I'm even banned from playing in this. I sent them an email marked 'urgent' 15mins before the start but received no response.

I think it's good of Poker Stars to give it's member this 'responsible gaming' option, but banning VIPs from the VIP Freeroll is just bad service.

Presumably you need to exclude yourself because you have a gambling problem. I would argue that any form of poker might exacerbate this problem. Why don't you take a vacation or something?

Nah, just a 24 buyin SnG downswing. No big deal, I know, but I wasn;t playing great and the double FPPs were proving a little too tempting ... so I banned myself.

They're just doing exactly what you asked them to. I'd said that's good customer service.

If you're that much on tilt I'm imagining you'd fire up the freeroll, then think "one table is boring", then fire up a half dozen SNGs and be right back in it. Them locking you out of the freeroll is probably +EV...it's Memorial Day weekend, go to the beach/lake/pool or something.

Dunkman you make a good point. Maybe not in my case personally (I've won most of it back at the cash tables and just wanted a pressure-free game of poker whilst drinking a few beers and watching YouTube on a Saturday evening), but in most cases I think you're right. I was a little too angry to realise this when I made the post.

Yeah really. They excluded you from playing after you asked to be excluded? What's the problem here?
