Default Oats In Workout Shakes

I was reading @ bodybuilder.com in that training link everyone is posting here like mad under the nutrition topics.

I saw they rec using a coffee grinder on some oats, cooking them, and adding them to the workout shakes instead of dextrose.

I dont use dextrose, I use oats... raw oats.

Is there some reason I should cook them instead of just dumping them in raw and hitting blend?

raw is fine...

maybe if you cook them they are more mushy and make the a different texture for the shake...

No, I just used them raw. I don't see any benefit to cooking them.

I used to use oats but now use dex as it tastes better to me. Oats is probably a little better though healthwise.
