Default Do all pro poker players need these requirements?

First off the only thing i know about math in poker is pot odds and don't really know what terms like pot equity mean. Do all poker players who play poker for a living know all the poker concepts there are? I remembered Chris Ferguson was asked about something equity in the WSOP 2006 final table broadcast and he said he never heard the word before and everyone was shocked.

Also, does jamie gold know what pot equity means? I just see him as a person that talks a lot and like to "trap" people as he call it. He just seems to know if he has the best hand or not but doesn't really look at the math i don't think.

Would being a pro poker player require you to know all these concepts or are there some of the pros whether only playing live or online that don't fully incorporate it.

Also, is multiple level thinking a requirement to be a pro poker player? When i started reading the levels for thinking in No limit holdem theory and practice, i got a headache when level 2 or 3 said what does my opponent think i'm thinking he's thinking. Of course when i play i only go to the 2nd level which is what i am putting my opponent on and don't even think what my opponent put me on.

Comments woudl be great.

I think a lot of the stuff regarding levels is done subconsciously, I also feel it is very important to understand these concepts to be a really good player.

Read that back to yourself and take a long hard look in the mirror.

Absolutely. Early on in a poker career you have to force yourself to put a range or to think what a player would call or how he would play a hand. Now its just natural instinct that is difficult to even notice.

Of course, just watch High Stakes Poker Season 3. He even explains to Mattusow:

"When an opponent has ace high, it isn't a bad idea to bet."

Pure genius.

Your mistake is thinking that somebody who wins a major tournament is a pro.

Ferguson was asked about Folding Equity and he did not new this term. Frankly, I have never seen it black on white either. Just something I learned here.
