Is it Fedor Emelianenko or Emelianenko Fedor?
Just wondering, I always see him being introduced before fights as Emelianenko Fedor. Is this just an Asia thing ?

Just wondering, I always see him being introduced before fights as Emelianenko Fedor. Is this just an Asia thing ? [/ QUOTE ]It's an Asian thing. His surname is Emelianenko and his given name if Fedor. (His brother is Aleksander Emelianenko). In Japan, they often say what Americans would call the "last name" first. E.g., in AJPW, they would introduce "Kawada Toshiaki" even though Americans know him as Toshiaki Kawada. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surname |

They usually don't do it (last name first) with non-japanese names though. It could be that in russia they follow the same system as japan/most of asia.
