Default FullTilt $28K gtd, - final 13........BTN vs SB. hero call or fold?

OK.... first time playing with villain in a tourney... however he's been raising quite frequently in late position...

its down to final 13... and I'm aiming for top 3... my logic goes as follow:

1. villain has been raising frequently... on the button seems like any face rag...
2. I pretty much put him on any 2 when he raised
3. villain is one of the top tourney leaders on FT... I've done my research... when he came over the top I really put him on a hand like JT/QT/Q9/K9 type of hand.... which explain my call with just an ace

does anyone pass up on this edge here?
also... he berates me for making that call until river came... and then he acts like a genius saying 100% of good players laydown A2 at that spot.... thoughts?

I fold without even thinking here. As it turned out you had the best hand but only just! A2 is never a decent favourite, you're either slightly head or way behind. Even if you were right and he did have like QJ, K9 etc. . . you're still only like 55 45 ahead here. For this reson you have to fold as he could also have you dominated. I honestly dont think twice about this before mucking. Like I say you were unlucky as you technically made the right call. Not very often is calling with A2 going to be the right call though.

yeah 2 thoughts 1. the reraise is too small.he has pot odds to call and ace 2 stinks bc its a trouble hand and a 1 card hand.

2. i would definitely not call his reraise bc you are always either way behind or even money

the point is if the cards were face up... do I still make that call given the situation?

I was 99% sure his hand was like Q high J high ish... normally that's an instafold

If his cards are face up then obv you want to get all in. Can I buy the software from you that shows my opponents hole cards?

As played A2 is a terrible restealing hand and an even worse bluff catching hand. You played the hand poorly but were lucky to pick up some Sklansky bucks in the process

Well, if u reraise to induce a bluff shove, do it with KQ.

At least now i get why my bluffs with A8o in these spots work so good

I think you made a good play. You put him on ATC and had the courage of your conviction to call with a hand that was well ahead of his range. NH.

courage and conviction is one thing, putting your opponent on the lowest part of his 4-bet range is quite another.

I agree, you got pretty lucky that he showed up with QT and not something much bigger... A2o is a really bad restealing hand...
