Really weird hand. Flopped straight
NL100, 5 max. No stats on villain but he seemed like a really loose/passive type of guy, this hand was not the first were ive seen him openlimp on the button, i think i hadnt seen him do anything except check and call up to this point. I have 128 and he covers. I have A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on SB
Preflop: 2 folds, button limps, i complete, BB checks Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (pot 3) I bet 1, BB folds, button calls Turn: q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (pot 5) I bet 3, button calls River: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (pot 11) I bet 10, button pushes (113 for me to call) What do i do? |

Re: Really weird hand. Flopped straight
I fold...
don't go broke on a limped pot for 100BB's with 3rd nuts.... 26/67 are possible out there from BB... I would have raised this pf...to the button limp... I can't see this push make any sense unless he is a moron.... |

Re: Really weird hand. Flopped straight
I agree its a tough to fold but remember he is really a loose passive player, checked out his stats now and theyre 70 vpip with a total AF under 0,5. I mean, do these types of players really push set/2 pair type hands on this board? I have been betting every street also.....

Re: Really weird hand. Flopped straight
first off, I'd have bet bigger on every street.
His river shove feels weird, but I don't think I could get away from it. I call and see what the hell he was doing. |

Re: Really weird hand. Flopped straight
I call this. My first thought was J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. If he did flop a bigger straight, will he protect it against the FD even though he's passive?
A thoery I implore often is: If the fish is sitting to my right, I'm much more likely to call a big river bet a little light, figuring my chances of getting it back are higher than average. Is that a bad way to think about it? |
