So I have one of those anonymous, prepaid cell phones for about a month now and I get a text message last night

"Hi I love you".

I ignore it

"Hi I love you"

I didn't recognize the number (it was local).

Trying to be clever, I responded "It will pass".

The response was "Do you love me".

So I call the number and some guy answers. There is a lot of strange noise in the background, like a whirling type sound or something. It was like the caller was outside, but it didn't sound like he was outside, just the noise in the background sounded far and distant.

I said did someone just call here? (I wasn't called I was texted but I assumed what I was implying was understood - someone was communicating with me from this number). He said one second. I think I said "you dialed the wrong number" or something like that and he responded I think we called the wrong number but then a very young sounding person got on the phone. It sounded like young girl. I said "wrong number" and hung up (if it was the second time I said "wrong number" I don't remember - I was tired last night when this happened).

After this, the text messages started again.

"Hi i love you"

"will you be mine"

"do you like me" (several times)

"whats your name"

me - "Ben. what's yours" (i lied)

"alexis"

"what" (she sent several of these for no reason)

"i love babyboy"

"baby i love"

"will you be mine"

"you do" (in response to what I don't know)

"will you go out with me"

"hi baby"

"do you like me" (3x in a row)

me - "i don't know you"

"you do"

"i love you"

"I am going to bed"

there were several more of these I had to delete because my SIM card was full, then finally

"call me"

at which point I said - "no - you call me"

then it said

"don't cell me"

then

"don't call me"

then the phone rang. It was a very young sounding person and a lot of awkward silence filled with more odd noises in the background. I ask "how did you get this number"

"it was my friend's number a long time ago"

me "it's late you better go to bed"

her "i have to get up at 4:30 anyway"

me "why"

her "to wake my cousin up tomorrow"

me "what are you doing tomorrow"

her "going to school"

me "what grade are you in and where do you go to school"

her "7th grade..." and some school I wasn't familiar with

I don't want to talk to, be seen with or have anything to do with any 7th graders so I immediately hang up the phone. [censored] these people I saw Capturing the Friedmans, Waco:The Rules of Engagement and read about Ruby Ridge.

Several more text messages after this of the same variety

"you don't love me"

"I love you"

"Im mad"

on and on

and then today, more of the same messages

"hi" "hi boy" "hi baby i love"

and a few more phone calls which I didn't answer.

The whole thing is very surreal and the only thing I can figure out (as previously noted) is that "Alexis" works with some law enforcement division somewhere trying to trap up child molestors plying their trade somehow with anonymous cell phones.

The police scare me so I have decided to ignore it.

This is the oddest thing that has happened to me in quite some time. What do you guys think this is? It definitely is no one I know as this phone is used for one purpose and no one has the number. All my friends and acquaintences have my other, non-anonymous number.

What the hell is going on? The text messages will not stop. There have easily been over 40 of them.

Call the police? They're the ones calling me. It is an anonymous, prepaid cell phone. I don't want to answer questions about why I have it or what I use it for. 911 is a joke, or haven't you heard?

My phone will hold 20 incoming text messages and I have cleared it twice now because it was full.
