Default lead out on the flop against 3 callers?

i m not sure if raising this preflop was a good idea, but what do i do know? i have a gutshot and an overpair, i dont really think the board is hitting my opponents hands very hard too often but 3 callers are a lot out of position. one of them is shortstacked which made me more inclined to bet as he cant push me off my hand with a draw. also seat 5 is calling/floating a lot which might lead to a difficult turn decision.

Seat 1: xx ($126,50 in chips)
Seat 5: Lerppa81 ($91,80 in chips)
Seat 7: DIOR55 ($12,80 in chips)
Seat 9: trissetto ($31,30 in chips) (on the button)
*** Blind Bet Round *** :
xx : Post Blind ($0,50)
Lerppa81 : Post Blind ($0,50)
Dealt to xx: Qc
Dealt to xx: 8h
Dealt to xx: 10h
Dealt to xx: Qd
*** Pre-Flop *** :
DIOR55 : Call ($0,50)
trissetto : Call ($0,50)
xx : Bet ($2)
Lerppa81 : Call ($2)
DIOR55 : Call ($2)
trissetto : Call ($2)
*** Flop *** : 6h 2s 7s
xx : Bet ($10)

I like the preflop raise more with QQJT, or J9 more, or better yet QJT8s or ds.

so you like better hands more
i think its usually good to get more money in the pot with a hand like this because i would have expected kk or aa to raise before me and you will get called a lot by hands with lower pairs or garbage at this level. obviously it s difficult to play against floaters on dry boards.

The preflop raise and continuation bet are marginal at best. Nothing wrong with making these plays from time to time, but standard is to check preflop.

I don't know if the c-bet is standard on the flop, but its very close. Sure 762 is better than 1092, but with 3 players to get by you'll be lucky to break even. Of course you'll do wonders for your image and getting the game out of the dirt.

In an unraised pot, your flop bet works better as your bet out of the blinds will be feared more than a continuation bet, plus it costs you 1/5 as much.

i dont like betting any hands out of the blinds unless they are quality rundowns - if i were your opponent here i would stick around with as little as a pair and a gutshot, so i dont really like the flop bet either, although you may as well fold as check here!
