Default NL400 - Horrible River Call?

I have no reads on villain, just noticed he seems to be fishy (limping/minraising a lot). My image is probably standard TAG

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $2/$4 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $165.50
BB: $182.60
UTG: $98.25
Hero (CO): $1,098.20
BTN: $533.75

Preflop: Hero is dealt T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $14.00, 2 folds, BB calls $10.00

Flop: ($30) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $21.00, BB calls $21.00

Turn: ($72) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $42.00, BB calls $42.00

River: ($156) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB bets all-in for $105.60, Hero calls $105.60

After viewing the hand, I didn't like how i bet the turn so small, so any comments on that are welcome as well.

* I normally don't open T9o from UTG+!, but I was gettin bored, so yeah.

I would say this is a bad call. In his mind, unless he is a bad player should recognize that by you betting both the flop and the turn, it is unlikely that you would fold to a river bet. There is no reason for him to bluff here or bet a weaker hand IMO.

You have a midpair and showdownvalue...
You could check the turn and hope that you have a +EV decision on the River or that he checks the river with a worse hand.
I bluff with my trash hands ( or hands with outs) not my marginal madehands...

I donīt like the Rivercall. I think most of the time he has a hand like KQ.

I would typically check the turn because of stacks.

I agree with the turn check - thanks. However as played, his river bet really confused me....why would he c/c both flop and turn with tpgk and then decide to lead shove the river? Considering all the draws missed and then he just lead shoves all in looked like a complete bluff to me. Maybe I'm just dead wrong.

I've found that when a weakish player check/calls on two streets and open pushes river, it's rarely a bluff. This line screams slow play (though I personally wouldn't slow play here...)

The river call is horrible IMO. I also check behind turn. You have position - use it to control the pot size (considering that you have a weak hand with showdown value).

(I also think over protecting one's hand is overrated in NLHE.)

It's rarely a bluff for the reason that since you were showing so much strenght, he doesnt have much fold equity on the river. You dont need to put him on a specific hand, and then make a decision...just be aware that he will have something most of the time.

Totally standard imo. Folding the river would suck badly.
