Default Shreveport Memorial Day Weekend (5/26-28/07)

Buddy of mine and I are heading out Saturday morning. Knowing it is Memorial Day Weekend and it will probably be packed anyway, where should we look to set up shop for the weekend? We are predominately 1/2 NL players , occasionaly jmake it up to 2/5. It's our first trip out there.

Also, hotel suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks and see you at the tables.

First off I will be very surprised if you find a room anywhere near the casinos. I've got a room booked tomorrow night and it was slim pickings when I booked it two weeks ago. If you do find something, I'd imagine it will be out towards Pines Road which is about 15 minutes from downtown. Not only is this Memorial Day weekend but it is the Shreveport Mudbug Festival which is huge.

Other than finding a room, this is a great weekend for poker. I'm mainly a $4/$8 poker now days but the $1/$2 action will be great and the poker rooms will be packed. For $1/$2 you might try starting off at the Eldorado. They seem to have the most $1/$2 games on average and the buy-in is $200 max OR 1/2 of the big stack.

Horseshoe is the other option and probably where I'll end up playing $4/$8 but they don't seem to have as many $1/$2 games going, however I'm sure there will be plenty this weekend with room packed.

Hope this helps. If you've got any more questions feel free to ask.

Great info, thanks.

Sounds like we'll be in Random Shady Inn on the outskirts somewhere. That or the Corolla Hotel I drive.

We'll be the big (one tall and one round) Texas kids. I'm in a green shirt.

Sounds good man. If I were you I'd start looking for rooms asap after you get to town.

My wife and I will be there tomorrow night. I'm a short young guy playing limit....that's pretty easy to pick out because it seems like no one else under 65 plays limit.lol

Ouch!!!! You just go broke there every time but that is a tuff one.

I'll be over at the Shoe around noon too, maybe a little later depending on when we get to town. Bobpoker, another 2+2er who is a buddy of mine says he might be heading over to the Shoe this afternoon too.

PM'ing you now.

Staying at one of the casinos is your best bet. The hotels you aren't likely to get shot at (or mugged) in town are about the same price at the casinos.
