Chalmers Johnson argues that defeating the Soviets was a good thing, but now that it is accomplished, the American empire that did it needs to be dismantled.

He says the Constitution and system of checks and balances are being destroyed, and the only solution is a citizen's initiative on the scale of the Civil Rights movement.
