Default Stab myself in the face?

[ QUOTE ]
if you ever flip over quads after never putting in a bet or a raise anywhere you should go ahead and stab yourself in the face.

[/ QUOTE ] ---- jba

Stars 5/10

I raise 44, BB calls

Flop KK4

BB chk-calls (I read this as suspicious from this chap)

Turn: K chk-chk

River: 4 chk-

I didn't want to stab myself in the face so I shot myself in the foot instead.

Stab or shoot?

??? will you get called and win more than 55% of the time?
Most players will call and play the board. He's even more likely to have AA than a K, not to mention any other pair. Then he can call with better than the board and still lose.
What's more, what's wrong with shooting yourself in the foot once in a while. ??? if u bet the R, do you fold to a raise?

You can't call it a bad-beat every time you lose.

but is there value in a bet and even if bet-fold is optimum then what's next best?

No I didn't fold to the raise. If AA is more likely than a K then I can't, can I?

I don't understand any of this. Villain will call with pocketpairs or playing the board here 99.7% of the time, and if he has a king not betting the river would be retarded.

Much more interesting, I think. Unless you know the guy really well, and knows whether he will bet here with complete air or not, then I think you have to raise.

If you know he would never bet without something, then it's a pocketpair or a king. Pocketpairs are obviously more likely than the case king based on handcombos, but is it a pocketpair 2/3 of the time? Dunno. Some pocketpairs 3-bet preflop (especially if you were stealing. Do you raise 44 from any position?), and if not they might checkraise the flop. I think, that I just call.

holy mackeral there's a full house on the table, raise. I bet in this spot just to make sure villain doesn't have "fold to ya mutha" clicked.

Raise. If he 3-bets, just call.

I think i'm going bonkers or everybody else is going bonkers.

it's you danza, you're misreading the action.

river is an easy easy bet. villain will put at least one bet in with 100% of his hands here. I would bet the turn as well because so many bad villains peel light on paired flops and will call a bet on this turn with ace high or worse. maybe I'm wrong about the turn though.
