Villain has only been playing at the table for a few orbits, but seemed to be a solid, aggressive player. Also, Villain nearly timed out before calling the re-raise preflop. BB is a fish with a VP$IP of 50+, so I'm not too worried about his hand.

Ehm completely misread the hand sorry.
If hes good then i like a shove. If hes a NIT then probably a fold. |

why would villain being good make a shove optimal?
I like a fold |

because hes more likely to have S.C. and hands were ahead of.
The timebanking preflop might mean he wasnt sure whether to play his hand, saw the fish 150 deep and thought "might be able to stack him" and called with Q,10hh. If hes a Nit then this is probably a set here always or at the best A,Qhh. |

why would villain being good make a shove optimal? I like a fold [/ QUOTE ] because if he is good then he can lead with hands like 99 TT or Ace big trying to take hero off another ace big. He could also be leading with any amount of draws whereas a nit probably wouldn't and if he is more nitty then a higher % of his range is crushing JJ. |

I didn't know this at the time because he had just sat down, but villain is a Cardrunners member and seemed to be a solid, aggressive player.
Assuming he's competent, is it fair to say that his range is probably something like 44, 66, 88-TT, QQ(?), AKh, AQh, and maybe T9h? Also, in a later hand he called a re-raise OOP and check-raised with JJ on a KhJhx flop. Can I therefore rule out flopped sets, or not considering he might be more likely to lead out in a 3way pot as to not to give a free card on a draw heavy board? |
