Default NL25 - AK TPTK - raised on the turn

Opp - 32\6\1 on 50 hands

Would you prefer check turn\call river? If yes, because of opponent or position?

My thoughts - he had a strong hand, c\r turn showes it. I could check the turn and get a free card, but I dont want him to get a free card too.

Default Re: NL25 - AK TPTK - raised on the turn

Alrighty...

Preflop, raise 4xBB +1BB for each limper. In this case, noone entered ahead of you, therefore, make it a $1 straight.

On the flop, there are not draws, therefore it's a WA/WB situation. Therefore, since you're in position, raising is not ideal, imo. If you just call, you encourage him to keep betting and he's drawing thin, or you keep the pot small by not raising when behind.

But as played you have to muck. Classic Baluga Theory here (ie. when you get c/r on the turn, 1 pr is rarely good). So as played, good fold.

But, a better line, imo, is to call the flop and see what he does on the turn. If he bets, you can raise there. But if you had raised the flop and he calls, you can check behind the flop for pot control and either call a reasonable bet on the end or value bet the river.

GL!
