200/400 badugi i make a pat jack vs a field of 2card draws
3 limpers, sb completes, i check 56.
everyone at table draws 2. i catch JT56 badugi. sb checks, i bet, fishy limper calls, aggressive tag raises, 2 folds, i 3bet, limper folds, tag calls. i pat, he pats. i bet, he raises, i fold. should i just be checkfolding at this point? i went for the hopeless bet/pat hoping he would break. |

I'm good with this line. Checking gives him too much power.

I think you should check fold if you respect him as you are never good here. If you want to turn your hand into a bluff I think a turn checkraise does that better than a bet by far.

I'm good with this line. Checking gives him too much power. [/ QUOTE ] too often vs a good opponent the call in position tends to mean he wants to raise on the next street, and with some opponents its a "raise to see where I am". check-calling gets the hero to showdown, and as donkey pointed out a bluff c/r is a monster if he can fold an 8 Badugi or worse - if he cannot fold at least a rough 8 then its just spewing chips to try this move because its no longer the percentage play (I am estimating the 8 rough hand range, but I think its a fair assumption). |

Ive never heard of anyone folding an 8 there--seems like thats an insta-calldown in every game I've been in, but that probably has something to do with my fish ass.
