98s so many options...
...but which ones are best?
Villain is tough aggressive reg, 24/21/3, i have a TAG image, we don't have any relevant history. Since stacks are $500 here, i don't think i like how i played this hand. Usually with 100bb i like to bet/3-bet all-in in this spot, but with these stacks am i better of with a check-raise here? Shoving $500 if he makes it $75 seems a bit ott... As played, what's my best line on the turn? Re: 98s so many options...
preflop meh. I do not think on the turn you get a lot of people betting so I would usually just lead again, but at this point a cr looks good

Re: 98s so many options...
Check raising looks ridiculously strong here IMO. You basically let him know you're willing to play for stacks while only making him invest 15bb's. Just bet it.

Re: 98s so many options...
Preflop is a clear fold.
Both a checkraise and a lead on the flop is fine as I'm sure you know, but as played you need to lead this turn. EDIT: Because villain is gonna check behind very often with hands he would have called a bet with. Besides a checkraise looks very strong, you are not gonna get action from worse hands very often here. |

[/ QUOTE ] I totally agree. i think he's capable of folding AK (without club) to my turn c/r. As played i think i should lead turn, but is a lead flop or c/r best? |

Re: 98s so many options...
to be fair, leading the turn also looks very strong on this board. if the only way he puts in moremoney is with a bluff then cr is better.

[/ QUOTE ] i prefer bet/3-betting the flop, however i would probably go for a checkraise 25% of the time. as played lead the turn for sure. and yes, i agree preflop oop its a pretty clear fold, especially against this type of villian. |
