~500$ effective stacks, villian's image is an old fish.
My image at the table has been tag and no one has gotten out of line. The games is 2/3/5 spread limit, 10 to go, max bet 200$, uncapped I pick up Ah2h in the bb, 3 limpers (including the sb). pots 35, I raise it up to 50 straight, utg(villian) calls, every else folds. I was hoping to take it down... but that didn't happen pots 120, flop comes Ac 2s 6d I lead for 80, villian flat calls. pot 280, turn comes a 9d and I lead out for 200, villian calls again. pot 680, river brings a 6c, I had about 170, got counterfitted... I decide to push the remaining 170 and expecting a call from a pair of aces with a better kicker or a boat. I get called... and imediatly annouces 2 pair. Old guy mucks, but he also had the ace and a better kicker. Since his cards were thrown at the dealer I forcefully yell that the cards are mucked and take down the pot... is this a scum bag move? what do you think of the way this hand went? pretty straight forward till the end... I was betting for value at every street, until the river.. Luck saved me.. I went home up 2k for the day... |

Old guy's fault for mucking. People announce "two pair" all the time on paired boards. In fact I would wager at least $1 that people call "two pair" as their hand more often when there is a pair on the board than when they make two pair using both their hole cards. BTW this is medium stakes limit but it doesn't really matter for this question because you were right and the old guy is wrong whether this is limit, NL or half pot limit Monopoly.

Locked for being in the wrong forum and not really much of a strategy hand anyway. OP, the B&M forum is a good place in the future to discuss table etiquette in live games.
