Default San Diego Zoo or Sea World

I'll be in San Diego for a long weekend with my wife and 5-year old. Should we take the kid to Sea World or the San Diego Zoo?

Legoland or Disney, which really isn't too far.

Go with the zoo. Shamu's water has lots of bacteria in it.

Ah yes Disneyland, right in the heart of San Diego.

OK, it's apparently further than I thought. Disneyland is about an hour and a half from SD, but Legoland is only 40 minutes.

Neither. I hear that the SD Wild Animal Park blows both of those away.

Your kid may get freaked out since the animals come so close to the car, though.

A 100 mile drive is nothing in SoCal.

took my 3 and 5 yr olds to sdiego this past january. went to sea world and legoland.

legoland is nice in that all the rides are geared towards little ones. there was hardly anything my 3 year old couldnt ride.

but that leads to one of the funniest things i've seen in some time. adult asian men riding these rides (at most 3mph on some of these things) and their 80 year old mothers taking pics. they looked like those fat twins riding bikes.

anyway sea world > zoo

It's been a long time since I've been to any of the 3, but I remember that was pretty cool. However, the San Diego Zoo is renowned as one of the best zoos in the world. I'd pick the zoo.

Oh, well then maybe he should drive to Vegas and have the kid ride the Stratosphere roller coaster.
