Early 4/180 hand that I thought was interesting
Just got moved to this table. We're still at level 1. No reads on villain yet. I'd like to go one street at a time on this one.

easy fold with no reads [/ QUOTE ] Meh. Hero and villain both have big stacks. Hero is in position and has implied odds way in his favor. Plus, what kind of post with this be if I folded PF. Re: Early 4/180 hand that I thought was interesting
Well ... anything less than 3/4 pot and I have a hard time believing
If I call then I am giving free cards while still playing for set value and still don't really know where I am I pop this for 300 Edit ... I make the original call as well and, based on reads, would possibly shove over someone reraising |

Re: Early 4/180 hand that I thought was interesting
Pre flop I call for set value.
Having missed the flop and with the Ace on the board I would fold to that bet unless I have a read that villain continuation bets a lot. |

[/ QUOTE ] We are deep here and that bet of his is fishy. I think if we repop we may get an A rag to fold along with any big pocket pair that is afraid of the A on board. Still room to fold to someone that reraises us. Fold isn't horrible if we want to stick to our plan of playing for set value. |

I would call preflop for set value and then once I missed my set fold.

Re: Early 4/180 hand that I thought was interesting
This early in a 4/180 I don't pay that much attention to bet size as a lot of the players play pretty randomly when it comes to the amount they bet.
Given there's only 1 opponent you may well get him to fold, but at level 1 most players are not folding when the flop hits them at all, and they love to play Ax until the end. |

Re: Early 4/180 hand that I thought was interesting
I am almost never re-popping here, as doing so is more expensive than floating and both will usually have the same result. Between floating and folding it's kind of read dependent. Against an unknown I usually just fold in a 4/180, but floating has its merits.

Re: Early 4/180 hand that I thought was interesting
I hate repopping PF in level I here. He's not folding.
Fold flop. No set. The Ace. His stack. I don't even wanna deal with it when everyone's dying to pay you off in other hands. |
