My river c/r was simply because of his bet size which looked to me like a J but not a boat. Should I shove the turn?

I like it everywhere. This type of player could easily have slowplayed a set or two pair, even on this flop. You do get paid off by worse if you shove this turn, though. If I feel my opponent's a real donk, I shove it and blame it on variance if he has the boat.

I would probably make it a bit more on the river. Maybe $40-45?

i'd three bet the turn b/c there are so many cards that either kill action or let him outdraw you. diamonds and pretty much any card 7 through K all kinda suck on the river. soooo, get in some more money on the turn.

agreed though that as played you need to c/r larger on the river after spiking a perfect blank.

I'd probalby 3-bet the turn, cuz like AE said, there are too many action killers on the river, and I think this guy stacks off with any jack.

Also, does anybody ever overbet the flop? I think 2pr/FD/SD are calling $8 as much as $3, it cuts down their implied odds, builds the pot, could make it look like you are trying to buy it, etc. Thoughts?

not often, but I don't think balancing my play is a huge factor against a 41/5 whom you may never see again.
