box in attic
I'm up in our attic, changing the air filter in our air conditioner. We don't use the attic for anything and it's pretty much empty, except for brick dust, squirrel [censored] and the upstairs ductwork.
I turn around and see a large wooden box. I mean big: a yard high and wide, about five feet long. Made of what looks like left over wood flooring. I open it up and it turns out to be a cedar chest. Empty. Cool. Here's the thing. It wasn't there last year. I'm absolutely goddammed sure of it. Was not there. It's too big to have been moved up there. It looks like it was built in place. It's got a latch on the outside. Why the eff would a regular cedar chest need a latch on the outside? Another fact: the previous owner was a mortician. I [censored] you not. I was afraid to look in the thing because I was sure there would be a body in there. So, BBV, I ask you: WTF? How did a huge box get into my attic? Should I sell the house before it starts talking to me in my sleep and blood starts running down the walls? |

Re: box in attic
I've lived in other houses that were creepy and gave off a weird vibe, but this one's always felt so homey.
Maybe I should just burn it down. |
